"Alright, well. Since you were no help at all... I've got three, and you can pick. Moulin Rogue, Star Wars or Gladiator. Have you seen any of these?"

Arthur shrugged, one arm draped over the back of the couch. "Don't think so."

"...have you seen a movie, ever?" Adia asked, torn between incredulity and amusement.

He laughed, his strong, hearty laugh filling the small apartment. "I remember what movies are. I just don't remember having seen one, no."

"Oh God." She shook her head and pointed at him. "Don't move. We're watching all three." She looked at them a moment, then put down the two that weren't Star Wars. "We'll just go chronologically, I guess."

He watched her putting the video in the player, not ogling, but...appreciative. It was still amazing to him that she was here, somehow. That he could be so happy with someone who was right here, with him. Someone he could reach out and touch. And that no one in the world had a thing to say about it but the two of them.

Sometimes, he was tempted to think that the plan had changed, and he'd just been sent to a very unusual version of Heaven.

Once the DVD was prepped, Adia plopped onto the couch next to him, on his open side with his arm now behind her. "Alright. Here we go. This is the original one - if you really get into it, we can see the prequels sometime, but they're sort of crappy, so you've been warned."

He chuckled, more sedately. "Duly noted. Should I be making popcorn or something?"

She poked his side, playfully. "Pace yourself. We've got two more movies to get through after this."

They settled in, and eventually, she inched closer, curling up against his side. Arthur let his arm drift down to encircle her shoulders, his hand idly brushing her upper arm. The story was utterly new to him, but so many elements were familiar. He thought idly that Dinadan would probably enjoy this... but then he let that thought go. No more thinking of the past. If only for tonight he was here, and now, with the woman he loved.

And that was more than enough.
