Title: Road Rations
Fandom: FFX
Rating: G
A/N: Fanfic, so the usual disclaimer applies. I'm not too thrilled with this one, but I couldn't fix it too much in the 15 minute limit.
The feast looked too good to be true, as if it were artificial. Tidus eyed the table appraisingly as they waited, trying to determine if he could get away with eating something or not. Road rations were wearing thin, after all. He noticed Auron watching him and nonchalantly strode over to Rikku, to talk to her for a moment. The normally cheerful Al Bhed seemed a little apprehensive, though he couldn’t say why. Then again, he wasn’t really listening… He kept glancing over at the food.
Wakka and Lulu were talking quietly in a corner, the expression on Wakka’s face suggesting they were arguing. He could go check that out, but he didn’t really want to get involved. Kimahri, the creepy catman, was just staring at the Guado, and had been ever since their little tour of Zanarkand. Tidus eased over to “admire” the paintings by the staircase, keeping a sidelong eye on the food. Dammit, when would Auron look in the other direction?
He got his chance when Rikku moved over to talk to the older guardian, asking him something that Tidus couldn’t hear. He swiftly took his chance and nicked a piece of fruit, smiling as he took a bite and enjoyed the sweet spoils of his stealth.
He almost choked on it as Yuna rushed over, blushing and stammered “He…he proposed to me.”
