Anthony Hope had touched a woman before. He was a sailor, and it was hardly the chastest of professions. Still, he’d found little enough diversion there. And he’d never touched a lady.
This was a lady.
He could feel his dreams condensing in his brain, even as he gazed up her. She would look down. She would smile. They would be married; their children would be as golden and shining as she. And in the meanwhile…
Meanwhile…
His face buried her hair, fingers stroking through. Her skin, beautiful and pale under his hands. Her lips…
He would buy her a bird. That seemed a good first step. Yes.
Sailors didn’t blush. So of course, Anthony wasn’t blushing. He was just…flushed. That was all.
